Terence Crawford Laughs Off Being Mistakenly Identified as Kendrick Lamar During a UFC Broadcast.Linh

What happens in Sin City is meant to stay there—unless it’s broadcast to millions around the globe. Professional boxer Terence “Bud” Crawford recently became the subject of a viral joke thanks to an error by the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).

On September 14, during the broadcast of the Saul “Canelo” Alvarez vs. Edgar Berlanga fight, the UFC mistakenly identified Terence Crawford as Kendrick Lamar. While those present at the T-Mobile Arena might have missed the mix-up, viewers at home quickly caught on.

Fans of the “Not Like Us” rapper flocked to X (formerly Twitter) to share memes swapping Kendrick Lamar for Crawford on album covers and other images.

Crawford took the mistake in stride, sharing a post on his official Instagram with a lighthearted comment: “Damn, Kendrick Lamar 😂.” He even used Kendrick Lamar’s song “Euphoria” as the soundtrack for the image captured during the event. Despite the confusion, Crawford remains a prominent figure in boxing, having won several titles in the ring. He’s also known for his connection to hip-hop; in July 2023, he had Eminem perform “Lose Yourself” during his ring walk. Crawford’s response shows his sense of humor and ability to roll with the punches.
