Snoop Dogg Denies Suge Knight’s Claim He’s Involved with 2Pac Murder Suspect’s Bail
Snoop Dogg has fired back at Suge Knight’s recent accusations, calling them “lies” after the former Death Row Records cofounder alleged that Snoop was secretly trying to assist Duane “Keefe D” Davis, a suspect in the 1996 murder of Tupac Shakur, in securing bail.
Knight’s claim suggests that Snoop and others were making efforts to help Davis, who is awaiting trial for his alleged involvement in Shakur’s fatal shooting. However, Snoop quickly dismissed the allegations as a product of Knight’s obsession with him. In response to Knight’s accusations, Snoop commented on a social media post, “This ni**a won’t stop talking about me,” before adding, “Mad cuz I own Death Row,” referring to his recent acquisition of the label. He also emphasized his awareness of Knight’s tactics, stating, “I realize your real lies.”
The accusations were made in an interview with The Art of Dialogue, where Knight claimed that Snoop, out of fear of being implicated in the murder, was working to help Davis get released. Knight, who is serving a 28-year prison sentence for voluntary manslaughter, also alleged that Ray J had told him about Snoop boasting of his involvement in financing a hit on Shakur.
Snoop Dogg and Suge Knight’s history dates back to the late 90s, when Snoop left Death Row Records following Tupac’s murder. Snoop then aligned himself with Sean “Diddy” Combs and other figures who were rivals of Knight and Death Row. This shift led to tensions between Snoop and Knight that appear to still be unresolved.
Duane “Keefe D” Davis, who is currently incarcerated, faces one count of murder with a deadly weapon for his role in the drive-by shooting of Tupac Shakur. He is also facing charges of battery following a recent altercation with another inmate. Davis’s attempt to post bail for $750,000 was denied due to questions over the source and legitimacy of the funds.
