Liam Payne opened up about the “scariest” thing that could happen to his son. Liam died on October 16 in Argentina and is best known for being part of One Direction
An interview of Liam Payne opening about a “scary” thing that could happen to his son resurfaced.
The former One Direction star died on Wednesday, October 16 in Argentina. Many knew Liam for being one of the five members of One Direction, a band that took the world by storm all thanks for the X-Factor and Simon Cowell in 2010. Liam sang alongside Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan and Harry Styles. The band broke up in 2016 and they all went solo.
Liam is remembered by his son, Bear Payne, 7, who he shares with Cheryl and was a member of the British girl group Girls Aloud. When Liam tried out for the X-Factor, where Cheryl served as a judge along with Simon and Louis Walsh, he met Cheryl. They broke up in 2018 after dating since 2016.

The same year that Bear was born, 2017, Liam spoke about fatherhood. Entertainment Tonight posted the interview.
He said: “The best thing about being a dad is when they look at you. They don’t just look at you. They like look into your soul. They look right through you. He’s like mini me and he has her [Cheryl] eyes. He smashed it on the eye front.”
Liam then revealed what would be the “scariest” thing that could happen to his son. He said: “That he might grow up to be like me.”
One of the hosts thought it would be a good thing to grow up like Liam but he quickly corrected them saying, “No.” He went on to explain how he has been in the spotlight since he was 14 years old and it was a “scary thought.” He tried not to “worry about anything because it always worked out at the end.”
The resurfaced video came after the former One Direction star was announced dead. Liam was open about his sobriety journey. In July 2023, he revealed that he was six months sober after spending about 100 days in rehab. “I was in bad shape up until that point,” he said in a YouTube video.
Liam continued: “I watching this beautiful symphony, I was having a drink, and I thought, ‘You know what, this isn’t really serving me at all, I don’t really need this right now.’ It’s the first time I’ve ever put a drink down and gone to someone else, ‘You finish this, I don’t need this right now.’ And I haven’t picked one up since, which has almost been six months, which I’m excited about.”
