Thankfully, a caring woman and her family took it upon themselves to save the dog’s life when they saw how desperate the situation had become. There was once a puppy who had been tortured for quite some time. He was malnourished, depressed, and unable to walk. His depressed state of mind matched his physical one. When all hope seemed lost, heavenly beings materialized in front of him. These people were moved by the puppy’s plight and went out of their way to ensure his safety and comfort. The Ijzendoorn family was on vacation in Crete, Greece, when they saw Kiara and her family with a puppy. Unfortunately, many strays are abandoned by careless people.
Ijzendoorn could not believe his eyes at what he was seeing. He felt compelled to help the puppy because he couldn’t imagine the pain it was in. When he found it, the little puppy’s health was precarious at best.
When the young woman went to find out more about the puppy’s life, she discovered that he was living alone in a rundown barn close to the road where she had first seen him. Kiara flew all the way to Greece to spend time with the puppy, showering him with care and affection throughout their time together. The Greek word for “bright” inspired her choice of the name Fos for her son.
Fos was in a tough spot, but he still welcomed guests with open arms. When they came to see him, his little eyes would light up, and he’d show his gratitude with sloppy kisses. He obviously appreciated all of their efforts to help him. Kiara fell in love with the puppy and decided to give him a permanent home with her family.
A veterinarian examined Fos and found that he had serious injuries that were consistent with abuse. Before he could be taken to the Netherlands, where Kiara’s family lives, he needed to be treated for several days to ensure his recovery and well-being. At long last, Fos was released into the care of his adoptive family.
The dog was ecstatic to have found a family who would love him no matter what his history was. The puppy’s life was changed forever by this one kind gesture. Fos’s recovery has been slow, but he’s come a long way from where he started. Ijzendoorn and his family have spent some time getting to know the timid pup over the years. The new owner reported that the puppy’s lump had shrunk and that he was walking more normally. But he still has a hard time around some older men and some cats.
