The Denver Broncos need a tight end. So do the Los Angeles Chargers.
Each has their franchise quarterback, Bo Nix in Denver and Justin Herbert in L.A., and they say a QB’s best friend is a tight end.
That’s where Evan Engram comes in.
The two-time Pro Bowler has now taken free agent visits to the Broncos and Chargers, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero. It could soon be decision time.

Engram is coming off an injury-shortened 2024 in which he played in just nine games and caught 37 passes.
He had his career year in Jacksonville in 2023, hauling in 114 receptions for 963 yards.
Engram began his NFL career with five seasons on the Giants before spending the last three with the Jaguars.
Jacksonville released Engram prior to the start of the NFL’s legal tampering period, a move that freed up $5.98 million in cap space.
Denver currently has the uninspiring tight end trio of Nate Adkins, Lucas Krull and Adam Trautman under contract. The Chargers are slated to return starter Will Dissly for another season.
Engram has caught two touchdowns in two career games against the Broncos. He’s struggled mightily as a Chargers opponent, catching just two passes total in three games.
It’d probably help prolong Engram’s career to get to spend quality time catching passes from Nix or Herbert, and they surely both want him on board.
