Alec Baldwin Gets Hilarious Gen Alpha Slang Lesson from 11-Year-Old Daughter Carmen
Alec Baldwin is getting an education in Gen Alpha slang from his preteen daughter, Carmen, in a new clip shared ahead of this Sunday’s episode of The Baldwins. In the fun segment, the 66-year-old 30 Rock alum and his 11-year-old daughter sit together as Carmen quizzes her dad on the meanings of trendy terms popular with younger generations.
The lesson kicks off with Carmen asking Alec, “Dad, what does ‘ick’ mean?” Baldwin guesses, “Gross,” but Carmen quickly corrects him, explaining that it refers to a “red flag.” The father-daughter duo continues through various slang words, with Alec struggling to keep up. When asked about “Sigma v. Beta,” Baldwin humorously links the terms to the Greek alphabet, only for Carmen to clarify that “Sigma” means good and “Beta” means bad.
Alec’s attempts to decode the phrases only get more amusing as the lesson goes on. When Carmen asks about “spill the tea,” Baldwin nails the definition as “Tell us the truth!” but his response to “cap” is met with laughter when he jokes, “You pooped in your pants? You capped your pants?” Carmen informs him that “cap” actually means to lie.
The most entertaining moment comes when Carmen explains the meaning of “simp,” a term Baldwin humorously mistakes for “stupid,” only to find out it refers to someone who is overly infatuated with someone, especially romantically. Carmen jokingly adds, “My brother’s celebrity crush is Jenna Ortega, so Jenna? My brother loves ya.”
The conversation ends with Carmen asking Alec if he knows what “gyatt” means. Alec guesses “your giant butt,” which Carmen confirms, calling it a “big, bodacious gyatt.”
“That’s been fantastic. Thank you so much, Carmen,” Alec concludes, clearly amused by the slang lesson.
The Baldwins airs Sundays at 9 p.m. ET on TLC.
