Volunteers exhibit resolute commitment as they strive to rescue a brave cat, who confronts an uncertain future.
Pregnant felines are usually looking for the perfect place to give birth to their offspring. Although some places may seem warm and safe, they are actually very dangerous.
Dryden and Teasley , 2 animal control officers from Cheyenne , Wyoming ( United States ), rescued a family of cats trapped in a barbecue. Luckily, the animals were spotted before the device was used.
The owner of the grill spotted small figures inside his appliance. As he approached, he discovered that it was a cat and her 3 kittens. Which seemed like they couldn’t get out of there.
Rescue experts called
Faced with this situation, the individual had the good instinct to contact members of local animal control. It didn’t take long for them to arrive on the scene. In addition to getting burned if they weren’t seen, the felines risked developing an infection from the dust in the barbecue. It was therefore urgent to dislodge them.
Dryden and Teasley carefully and professionally took them out one by one, before placing them in a cage. The family was then taken into the care of staff at the city’s animal shelter.
A common situation
This story is unfortunately not uncommon. Many felines get stuck in comfortable places at first, but can later become real traps. Barbecues are one of them, as are car engines.
A spokesperson for the city of Cheyenne also invited the public to be vigilant so as not to endanger hairballs. Relayed by Wyoming News Now , he specified that it was necessary to “ frequently check small confined spaces around homes and vehicles ”. He added that it is important to tap the hood of your car before starting it in case an animal has taken refuge there to warm itself. This advice is all the more important during this winter period.
