After falling from the second floor, the cat lies motionless, crying, waiting for help to arrive.
My heart nearly leaped out of my chest as I witnessed the harrowing scene unfold before my eyes. This poor little kitten had fallen from a nearby high-rise building onto this street. Was it just an accident, or had someone intentionally treated it this way? Fortunately, it got caught in a piece of clothing before hitting the ground for real.
Still, I wasn’t sure if it would survive. I rushed over immediately and began checking on the cat. There were no visible external wounds, but it seemed dazed. The cat lay still, with a vacant look in its eyes. It was still breathing, but its heartbeat was weak and sluggish.
Oh, the poor little cat, so tiny that it fit in the palm of my hand. Judging by its scruffy appearance, it probably wasn’t a domesticated cat. It seemed to be a stray cat that had been injured while attempting to break into someone’s house for food. It was truly pitiful, and I couldn’t help but shed tears at the thought of its dire circumstances. I wished no cat in the world would ever have to suffer from such hunger to the point of falling into such a pitiful state.
I quickly brought the cat to the nearest hospital. The doctor said it was in shock from the fall, affecting its brainstem. This caused the cat to lose balance and be unable to walk. Oh, poor little cat, such a string of misfortunes befalling this tiny body. But I knew we would never give up on it.
Life had not been kind to you, so let us be. The doctor administered medication and fed the cat a little milk to settle its stomach. Then, they returned it to us because it was too weak for treatment. They said if it survived through the night, the cat would have a chance to live on. We stayed up all night, keeping watch and praying it wouldn’t leave us.
And a miracle happened, God heard our heartfelt prayers. The next morning, the cat woke up with a renewed spirit. It could even sit up and eat a little. Now, after a month of careful care from the rescue team, the cat’s life has changed significantly. The balance issue did not hinder it, and the cat can walk perfectly fine. It is also living a joyful and happy life every day.
